The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in 1980. The department has consistently maintained high academic standing,which is reflected in the university ranks and the outstanding performance of the students in placements and in competitive exams like GATE, CAT, GRE etc. The department finds its strength in its highly experienced and dedicated faculty and its laboratories are well equipped with the latest state of art equipment. It was accredited in the year 2002 by National Board of Accreditation of AICTE.

The department has recently started a Post Graduate program Digital systems. In order to disseminate knowledge, the department has been organizing a good number of short-term courses and workshops on a regular basis. This three day workshop is a major initiative taken up by the department towards contributing for the growth of the engineering community. For the professional growth of faculty and students, the department has a very active IEEE student chapter.
