The department has well qualified and experienced faculty comprising of 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors, 13 Assistant Professors with a total strength of 15 supported by 14 Non-teaching staff. The department has 5 Ph.D holders and 9 faculty members with more than 20 years of teaching experience. The department has 04 recognized research supervisors approved by Osmania University with 20 research scholars pursuing Ph.D under the supervision of them. Faculty members published numerous papers in National and International journals and also presented papers in conferences. The department has organized an International conference in December 2019. National seminars, conferences and workshops are also organized at regular intervals.
The Civil Engg. department is well equipped with laboratories for all the courses offered. The department has consistently achieved 4-5 university ranks every year. The department has established students Professional chapters which are affiliated to Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Institution of Engineers (IE) and IGBC. The ICI students chapter has won National Best Young students chapter award in 2013 besides “Best modeling” award in 2015. Two students have won National championship quiz organized by Dalmia cements in 2013 with a cash award of Rs. 50,000/-. The final year project of Civil engg was honoured with NIT KOZHIKODE National award for the best project work in Civil Engg in 2006. The students exhibited a number of working models of Civil Engineering structures during the technical festivals organized annually. The department has done a number of consultancy works related to roads , buildings and material testing.

Dr. S. V. Narsi Reddy is an accomplished academician, researcher, and academic administrator serving as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET), Hyderabad. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.E. in Structural Engineering, along with a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering. With over 15 years of combined experience in teaching, research, and industry, including international academic experience at Arba Minch Government University, Ethiopia, he brings a strong blend of academic expertise, technical proficiency, and administrative leadership to the department.
His areas of expertise include Structural Engineering and Construction Management, with research interests spanning sustainable construction materials, fibre-reinforced concrete, geopolymer concrete, structural retrofitting, seismic performance of structures, and the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in civil engineering. He serves as the Principal Investigator of a funded research project on the Application of AI in Structural Health Monitoring, reflecting his commitment to innovative and technology-driven research. His scholarly contributions include publications in national and international journals, conference presentations, and a registered copyright in an AI-based image recognition technology.
Dr. Reddy is committed to academic excellence, outcome-oriented teaching, student mentoring, research advancement, and continuous professional development. His proficiency in structural engineering and design software, including ETABS-related analytical workflows, AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, Tekla, and MATLAB-based Artificial Neural Networks, supports his focus on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical engineering applications. As Head of the Department, he strives to strengthen academic standards, foster a collaborative teaching and learning environment, promote interdisciplinary research, and prepare students to meet the evolving challenges of the civil engineering profession through innovation, sustainability, and professional competence.

Four programs of MJCET i.e., Civil Engg., CSE, ECE, Mechanical Engg. were accredited by NBA for a period of 3 years upto 30/06/2027.
